Role of Dede Wilsey in Reconstruction Of De Young Museum

29 Nov

Dede Wilsey played a significant role in rebuilding the quake-damaged building of the De Young Museum. She drove a thorough campaign to raise huge funds privately. She managed to raise over $200 million for its rebuilding and redesigning and made it the second largest privately funded museum project. She also donated $10 million personally for the campaign.

De Young was in ruins for a long time as public funding wasn’t enough to support the rebuilding process. This is why Dede Wilsey  stepped in and took the responsibility on her shoulders. She worked day and night to make the project a success. She not only raised funds for it but also supervised the redesigning of the museum. She hired experienced Swiss architects for this purpose.

Dede Wilsey encountered many obstacles in this particular project. Infect, it is said to be the most challenging project of her life as a fundraiser. It took her years to complete this particular project. She had to fight with numerous issues such as city politics to materialize her vision of the museum. Dede Wilsey  strongly believed in the project and drove it to completion with all her confidence. She persuaded donors with all her charm to dig deep in their pockets and donate generously for the campaign.

Finally, an easy Virtual Private Network!

13 Nov

VPN’s just sound expensive to deploy.  I outsource my networking to a specialist, but was taken aback by the price point when I requested VPN access to our network.
I found we needed to upgrade the firewall, buy new licenses for our Exchange Server and set up dedicated VPN usernames for each user.
We did all of this and then found that half the time the VPN service would go down right in the middle of something and you’d be kicked out.

That’s when I stumbled across WebPoint by Vedivi.  No high-ticket price, setup fees or slow connections!  I simply installed the free software on my office PC and within 20 minutes I was able to remotely connect to my PC from outside the network.
Basically, it bypasses all the usual VPN mumbo-jumbo and creates a tunnel to the WebPoint site.  You log in on the site with a username and password and the software creates a secure channel between your PC’s.  I even found that I could browse all the PC’s in my office – very cool indeed.
Try it Free for yourself.
